Monday morning

The other morning we headed out for school without checking the thermometer first...BIG mistake!  We have been so used to the mild weather we just thought coldness was for western Canada.  I should've clued in when I heard Anna yell, "I can't feel my legs!"  Yeah, I thought, she just needs to start moving.  Well, it turns out that with the wind chill it was -30 degrees, and it was very windy!  I just kept motivating the kids (and the puppy) by saying 'just think of the pioneers!  We can do it'  It is a 2 block walk to school...we made it.  On the way back Norah refused to walk and so I piggybacked her as I ran home, it was hard.  She kept saying, "okay, okay, we can do it.  okay okay."  As soon as we got in the house we made chocolat chaud and she warmed her little hands around her little mini mug!
