Each of the children planted their own little garden plot this year and when we came home from our vacation we had a splendid harvest awaiting us! We even had friends pick for us while we were gone and there was still an oodle of green beans for us to pick in the oncoming days. I had to get a photo of Sam cutting these beans. His little hands worked so methodically and carefully...he stayed at that task til it stuck to him...it took quite a while.
Oh, I miss having a garden. Those are some nice looking veggies.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of giving each kid a garden plot to be responsible for...it seems it would be a better teaching method than just the 'communal garden service' idea. I guess we'll have to wait til kids are a little older though.
